Some distortion can occur in toughened glass due to the directional nature of the process. This is in the form of distortion bands (roller waves) 250 - 300mm apart, perpendicular to either the long or short axis of the glass. When one dimension exceeds 1300mm, however the bands will always be perpendicular to the long axis.
